Open Settings inside the app and connect Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). Once granted, your daily steps, distance, and active calories fill in the Move ring automatically.
Either your device doesn't have a health data store, or permission hasn't been granted yet — reconnect from Settings. On some Android phones, Health Connect only has data once another app (like Google Fit or your phone maker's health app) is actively writing steps to it — Health Connect itself doesn't count steps on its own.
Distance is estimated from your live step count and your height (set it in Settings for a more accurate stride estimate) — by design, Fitness Champ never uses your location.
